Did you Know...?
Sometimes things just aren't what
they seem. I wasn't aware of how my food actually ended up on the dinner table
until watching the movie Food Inc. Food Inc was such an eye opener and if you
haven’t seen this documentary then I advice you do. The movie explains in very
discrete and accurate details how the food industry works in the U.S. All of the
foods were so accustomed to don’t come to us in the most inhumane
way.
A problem with all of this is the safety of the companies and how
unhealthy they are. Some in fact cause deadly disease like e coli. We rely on
the government or in this case the USDA to protect us from these terrible
things. A lady that lost her son to the e coli disease said, “We put faith in
the government but they can’t even protect us from the basic things.” This is so
true we don’t even really think about the role the government plays in
regulating what goes in our bodies. We have to understand that we don’t control
food the government does.
